Human Rights Commissions

In order to enquire into the complaints of human rights violations in the Country, National Human Rights Commission was set up in Delhi and various state governments have also set up their respective State Human Rights Commissions under the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.

Apart from Human Rights Commissions, there are National Commission for Minorities, National Commission for Scheduled Castes, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, National Commission for Women, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights etc. under various legislations to take up specialised cases of human rights violations of marginalised groups.
